[00:00:00] Hey everyone, this is Jon here and I just wanted to give a quick update because it's been a long time since we've had another podcast episode come out. Well, not a really long time, like a month, but I just want to give you the reason for that. And it is because in the end of this last episode, I think it was the end of this book that we talked about in The Fellowship of the Ring, where I mentioned I had listened to it and I didn't really catch a lot of the details.
[00:00:27] So what I wanted to do was reread the entire series and I asked all the group and they were all okay with me doing this. I said, can you guys give me like two to three weeks to reread the series or reread the first book so that I can kind of get the grasp or kind of get a grasp of it and get like a lot more of the details? Because something that was impressive to me was like the amount of details that fans were telling me in the comments and just some of the things that I just missed throughout the reading.
[00:00:56] So I reread it, actually read it this time. I didn't listen to it and it was like reading it. It was reading it for the first time. And what I did was on our YouTube channel, which I want to push that right here on our YouTube channel, which is first timers go on YouTube and just type in first time readers or first timers.
[00:01:13] Um, I just started publishing a series of essays, um, about essentially my first time read through, um, and my impressions of certain characters. So it's like a deep dive of just me personally going through the series and I am almost done. Um, I was initially going to do like a two week thing, two to three weeks where I kind of just did a chapter per day and just did like a quick essay about it.
[00:01:36] But as soon as I got to the council of Elrond, I typed seven essays. That was a full week. So it's been significantly longer than I anticipated. I just wanted to apologize, um, for all of you, for me having to go through this really slow, I guess, but, um, I just wanted to write all these essays. It's been so fun writing them because I'm finding so many interesting things. And I, I think Tolkien is maybe the most brilliant and genius writer who has ever lived.
[00:02:03] Like I am so impressed with this guy's world building and I cannot wait to get to two towers, which is going to happen probably in the next few, um, days. I'm going to guess probably in like another two weeks. Cause I'm pretty close to finishing, uh, fellowship of the ring really for the first time I am rereading it or I'm reading it. Um, and I'm on the lot of Lorian chapter right now. There's a few essays that I want to write about that. Um, but please check out the YouTube channel. Cause there's a lot of really good stuff on there.
[00:02:31] I don't know if it's good. Some people like it, but, uh, I'm just throwing out some essays there. So make sure you subscribe. And again, all of this is just tell you that the others in a group have been getting mad at me for not continuing to go on or they're not mad at me, but they're, uh, they're trying to push me a little bit to finish us so that we can get back to reading and recording this podcast. Cause all of them truly do love it.
